The Day's Recap Vs. The Phillies: April 13

R.A. Dickey tossed seven innings of one- run ball, Jason Bay smacked a two-run homer and the New York Mets defeated the Philadelphia Phillies, 5-2, on Friday in the opener of a three-game set.

Dickey (2-0) allowed nine hits and one walk while striking out seven for the Mets, who snapped a two-game skid after opening the season with four straight wins. Cliff Lee (0-1) gave up four runs -- three in the first inning -- on five hits while fanning seven for Philadelphia, which managed to score just two runs despite registering 11 hits.

Jimmy Rollins had three hits and Freddy Galvis got his first big league home run, a leadoff shot in the bottom of the third.
