Last night was quite a busy night at the stadium for me. Earlier in the week I knew of an interview that I had planned with Emily Mead of Student Sponsor Partners (SSP). More on that in a bit. What I didn't know about until yesterday was that my cousin's son was performing the National Anthem with his school (Lockhart Elementary School).
When I arrived I decided to walk around on the field level to find out more about getting myself down to the field for the National Anthem and with a little persuasion I was able to get down there in time to video the National Anthem.
After leaving my cousin and family I headed to Section 306 where I stopped to visit Emily Mead, Director of Individual Giving & Sponsor Recruitment of SSP. SSP is a nonprofit organization based in New York City that provides at-risk students in New York City with the opportunity of a non-public high school education, through the financial support of a sponsor and one-to-one guidance of a mentor. The Mets Organization was nice enough to provide SSP tickets for these students and their mentors to see the Mets game last night.

The interview with Emily Mead can be found here.
Next stop was to go visit my friends, the Citi Field Shea's up in Section 513 where I spent the rest of the night with laughs and their famous Mets chants. For my first post on the Citi Field Shea's click here.
Despite the three runs the Mets put up in the bottom of the 9th inning, it was not enough to make up for the six given up in the top of the inning. For the recap, click here.

I was sitting in 513 last night and you guys are hysterical. Nice to see fans with energy and enthusiasm. Go Mets!
